MEET THE AUTHOR
Tonia McDonald (TMac) is an author and mentor who creates meaningful stories that encourage perseverance, build a “you are capable” mindset, and empower children to become overcomers.

A graduate of Manual High School, Tonia holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from California Baptist University and has spent years encouraging children and families through mentoring, literacy, and community service.

Rooted in her faith, Tonia draws inspiration from her family, grandchildren, and experiences working with youth—including a powerful moment when a youth in detention told her, “I wish someone had read to me when I was little.” Her stories celebrate connection and belonging while encouraging a beautiful array of children to keep going—even when things are hard.

Her debut book, Jaxson and His Fighting Pants — Getting Dressed By Myself!, reminds children that they CAN do hard things—just TRY and TRY again until MISSION COMPLETE!
